A Junior Tenpin event can be held at the discretion of the organising committee. The age group or groups are to be determined prior to sending the invitation packs for the tournament.
General Rules
- This is a scratch tournament (i.e., no handicaps) open to all eligible bowlers.
- Bowlers are advised to be present in the bowling centre on or before the check-in time.
- Bowlers who are absent will receive a score of 0 for each frame that he/she has missed.
- Draw for the lane assignments will be distributed near the tournament date.
- Where rule is not stated, FIQ rules will be applied.
Deadline
ALL FORMS are required to be completed and submitted by the 15th of September 2024.
Team Event Rules
- Each team should have no more than four (4) bowlers and MUST have at least 1 female bowler.
- Elimination Round: Each bowler will play three (3) games. No substitution of player(s) will be allowed once the games have commenced. The team score is the total of the scratch scores of each member of the team.
- Final: The top 16 teams from the Elimination Round will play another round of 3 games which will be added to the team totals from the Elimination Round to determine the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Therefore a cumulative total of 6 games will count towards the Team Event total.
- In the event of ties, a 2-frame roll-off will be used to break the deadlock.
Singles Event
- The result of the individual performances in the Team Event Elimination Round will determine the participants of the Singles Event.
- The top 16 male and female bowlers with the highest 3-game series will advance to the Singles Events.
- The Junior bowlers can also qualify for the Singles Events.
- In the event of a tie for a slot in the Singles Event, the bowler with the lesser difference between their highest and lowest games in the Team Event Elimination Round will advance to the Singles Event.
- If there is still a tie after rule 4 above, a two-frame roll-off will be played between the bowlers involved. A two-frame roll-off is like playing the 9th and 10th frames of a game. The bowler with the higher score after the two-frame roll-off will be declared the winner of the roll-off and will advance to the Singles Event.
- The individual scores from the Team Event Elimination Round will be carried forward to the Singles Event.
- Each bowler will play another 6 games in the Singles Event and this will be added to their 3 games in the Team Event Elimination Round. This effectively means that the Singles Event is based on a total of 9 games .
- Bowlers will play 2 blocks of 3 games, with lane assignment determined by their individual finishing position in the Team Event Elimination Round. 9. In the event of a tie for the top three positions, a two-frame roll-off will determine the winner of the tie (as per rule 5 of this section).
Awards
The following awards will be given:
Adult Division:
- Team trophy for the Champion team plus individual medals for the team members.
- Team trophies will be given to the First Runner-Up and Second Runner-Up of the Team Event.
- Trophies for the top 3 in the Singles Event for both Men and Women.
- Trophies for the Male and Female High Game for the tournament bowled during the entire tournament.
- Trophies for the Male and Female Highest 3-game Series of the tournament.
- The award for (5) is based on the best 3-game series that was bowled for the tournament regardless of the event in which it was played. The 3-game series for this tournament are:
- Team Elimination Round
- Team Final
- First block of 3 games for Singles Event
- Second block of 3 games for Singles Event
Junior Division (if played):
- Trophies for Junior High Game – male and female (based on the 1st three games in Team Event Elimination Round).
- Trophies for top three (3) Junior High Series – male and female (total of 1st three games in Team Event Elimination Round)
The Federation Tenpin Bowling Shield will be awarded to the club, society or sporting group that garners the most number of first-place finishes across the following events:
- Team Event
- Men’s Singles Event
- Women’s Singles Event
