TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS

Team Registration and Fees

  • Entry Fee for the tournament is $380.00 for all divisions.
  • All team entries must be submitted to the Tournament Director by 31st August 2024.
  • A maximum of 14 players may be registered in one team.
  • Players can only play for one club.
  • Mixed teams – players can only play for one club. Composition of the mixed team must have 3 females and 3 males on court during a game. Substitution can only be female to female and male to male player in mixed teams.

Playing Format

  • All matches for pool play will be played best of 3 sets – 25, 25, 15.
  • Semi-Finals will also be played best of 3 sets – 25, 25, 15.
  • Finals will be played best of 5 – (depending on time constraints). Also, it will be the Tournament Director and Committee discretion for the final decision.
  • A Roll-On, Roll-Off will be used for all matches to keep matches on schedule.
  • A 3-minute net time will be given to all teams before their matches begin. This will be separate for safety purposes.
  • Teams may have back-to-back games due to draw and timing.
  • 12 Substitution rule applies for all divisions. For this rule players can enter the court with no limit on the replacement of players from the starting line-up.
  • All Score Sheets must be filled in and signed off by captain and coach before game starts, and captains at the end of the match.
  • Teams must have 6 players to start a game.
  • Top 2 from each pool will advance to the semi-finals.
  • Late teams will end up with a loss – 5 minutes late from schedule time. This is a must due to time constraints.

Ball for Tournament

  • Match Ball used in this tournament will be Mikasa V200W

Libero Player

  • Before each match, teams may nominate from their team list up to two Liberos by writing their names and numbers in the reserved Libero on the score sheet.
  • If a team has more than 12 players listed on the score sheet for a match, 2 Liberos are mandatory to be nominated before the match begins.

Uniforms

  • Team playing tops must be matching in design and colour.
  • Team playing shorts must be matching in colour and at least close to matching in design / length / pattern.
  • Playing shirt must be numbered and clearly visible front and back.
  • Captain’s shirts must be clearly identified with a line under the number on the shirt front.
  • Libero player(s) must wear a uniform which has a different or contrasting dominant colour from the rest of the team. The uniform must clearly contrast with the rest of the team. The Libero uniforms must be numbered like the rest of the team.
  • Skins/ support/compression garments may be worn under uniforms.

Duty Teams

  • Teams will be assigned to duty – scorer, linesmen.
  • Referees will be assigned to each game.

Injury / Illness Player

  • Injured player will follow the FIVB ruling,

Protest

  • A protest fee of $50.00 cash shall be lodged with the complaint.
  • A protest may be lodged if the team believes that the match officials have incorrectly interpreted or applied a rule.
  • Game must immediately stop, and the protest is lodge.
  • A decision is made by the Referee Delegate and Tournament Personnel. Decision is final and binding.
  • Protests after the game will not be considered.
  • If the Protest is upheld the Protest Fee will be returned.

Eligibility and right of Entry for tournament.

  • Team composition is as follows for all players to participate.
    • Filipino by birth
    • Filipino by marriage or a partner
    • Part Filipino
    • Of Filipino descent

Transgender Players

  • This matter is always difficult in our sport code, so please understand that we will have all transgender playing in the male Division unless players present medical certificate and necessary documents regarding their transition.
  • If we have this ruling upheaved in any way that players will be complaining, then the Convenor and the Board committee for this tournament will have the last say on this matter.

Allocation of Competition Points

  • Ranking Points shall be allocated as follows:
  • Match won 2-0 is 3 points
  • Match won 2-1 is 2 points
  • Match lost 1-2 is 1 point
  • Match lost 0-2 is 0 points
  • Match forfeited (0-25, 0-25) is 0 points

Ranking will be determined as follows,

  1. Number of wins.
  2. Ranking points.
  3. Set quotient – sets won and lost.
  4. If the tie continues as per the point quotient between the 2 teams, the priority will be given to the team which won the last official match between them.
  5. When the tie in point quotient is between three or more teams, a new classification of these teams in terms of the above 3 tiebreakers will be made taking into consideration only the matches in which they were opposed to each other.

Pool Play

Womens Division:

  • 12 teams will be put into 2 pools of 6 and the top 2 from each pool will go into semi-final, then finals

Men’s Division:

  • 12 teams will be put into 2 pools of 6 and the top 2 from each pool will go into semi-finals, then finals

Mix Division

  • 12 teams in will be put into 4 pools of 3 and the top 2 will go into quarterfinals then semi-finals and finals

Awarding:

  • Champions - 1 Trophy + Gold medals (each per player)
  • 2nd Place - Silver medals only (each per player)
  • 3rd Place - Bronze medals only (each per player)

Mythical six - Medal each per player

  1. Best Outside Hitter
  2. Best Opposite Spiker
  3. Best Setter
  4. Best Middle Blocker
  5. Best Libero
  6. Best Server
